PUNE: AISSMS College of Hotel Management and Catering Technology inaugurated the 10th annual national intercollegiate event Atithya 2018.
The three-day event began on Wednesday in which 26 colleges from India are participating.
The chief guest of the inaugural day was Divakar Shukla, General Manager, Crown Plaza. Brig Apte, Chairman, British Business Group, Suresh Shinde Joint Secretary AISSM Society and Ajay Patil Treasurer AISSM Society were also present.
On Wednesday, six competitions were held. Industry veterans such as Pankaj Kamble from Flairology and Senior Mixologist Rohan Rege from JW Marriot judged the Flame-o-Logy competition.
The judges for the Style and Shoot competition were Bharat Bhirangi, Head of Academics BV school of photography, Sneha Bhave, food blogger and Shraddha Khalap, Vice-President, Food Art Boutique Goa.
Chef Jogindar Singh Pastry Chef from JW Marriot and Chef Selvaraj Pastry Chef from Westin evaluated Miniature Marvel while Room Division Competition was adjudged by Sameer Divanji, L and D Manager, Malaka Spice and Saeed Hashmizadeh, Duty Manager, Conrad Hilton Pune.
The last event of the day was Housekeeping Olympiad where shortlisted team had to create a slumber experience for a guest room and the round was evaluated by Yogesh Deshmukh, Executive Housekeeper at Hyatt and Shashank Chaudhari, Executive Housekeeper, Sayaji Hotel.
