AISSMS College of Hotel Mgmt holds event on road safety

DCP (Traffic) Tejasvi Satpute appreciated the initiative taken by the college. She suggested that the same street play should be performed as a roadshow at major crossroads (chowks) in the city. 

PUNE: A street play was organised by the first year students of the Bachelor of Science Hospitality Studies at the AISSMS College of Hotel Management & Catering Technology recently.  

The motive behind the event was to spread awareness about road safety and to inspire the students to wear helmets and drive safely. Besides the social cause, important skills such as public speaking, verbal communication were imparted to the students.

DCP (Traffic) Tejasvi Satpute was the chief guest.

The first part of the event was a silent march. Students marched on the college campus with posters on road safety. In the main event, students took the stage with great pomp and splendour.

The street play concluded to a thunderous applause from the audience, which comprised the Principal, faculty and students from all classes. The students, who were performing, also urged the audience to take a pledge to follow traffic rules and generally be a responsible citizen with a good civic sense. 

Principal Dr Sonali Jadhav appreciated the efforts by Sarika Joshi, faculty member in charge, and praised the enthusiasm of the students.
