Adulterated khawa seized by Pune police

Pune: Adulterated khawa weighing 250 kg, was seized by Crime Branch Unit 1 from a shop in Warje Malwadi on Tuesday. One person was arrested. 

The police received a tip-off that production of adulterated khawa was going on at a shop in Warje Malwadi. They raided the premises and seized 250 kg of adulterated khawa amounting to Rs 35,000.

The police arrested the owner of the sweet shop,  identified as Om Prakash Chowdhary, who was allegedly making sweets from adulterated khawa for two years.

The investigation team included Police Inspector Nitin Bhosale Patil, Assistant Police Inspector Dhananjay Kapre, Police Sub-Inspector Dinesh Patil, Police Constable Raju Pawar and others.
