ADI to organise Pune Design Festival today

A statement issued by ADI says that this conference will discuss designists’ perspective of design as a principle and ideology contributing to the creation of better systems, services, products and communication.

PUNE: The Association of Designers of India (ADI) will be presenting the 12th edition of Pune Design Festival (PDF) at Hotel Hyatt Regency, Pune, on Friday.

Based on the theme of ‘Designism’, PDF 2018 conference will open at 9 am with a keynote address by Padma Shri Bunker Roy and will conclude on Saturday by unveiling the first edition of Lexus Design Awards in India.

A statement issued by ADI says that this conference will discuss designists’ perspective of design as a principle and ideology contributing to the creation of better systems, services, products and communication.

The #PDF18 is replete with 22 highly interactive talks, six workshops, three movie screenings, two mentoring sessions, panel discussions and two exciting design award nights.

As a unique musical tradition of this conference, #PDF18 will open with a sarod jam between father-son product designer duo of Bhargav and Neeraj Mistry. The opening keynote will be followed by HyperCollective’s KV Sridhar (Pops) and Internationally acclaimed cross-cultural designer Tarek Atrissi from Europe.

One of the highlights of #PDF18 will be late professor MP Ranjan memorial session by sustainability visionary Neils Peter Flint and social innovator Swapnil Chaturvedi. Sonal Dabral of Ogilvy India will deliver the closing keynote at #PDF18.

Design Expo, with a presence of prominent design institutes, will be a concurrent event that will take place at Ishanya Mall on February 16 and 17. This expo is open to the public and would be an ideal opportunity for anyone who is considering design as a career.
