ABVP activists demand Mane’s suspension

The agitation against Mane was on the backdrop of alleged irregularities in admission procedure, which took place in Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) during his tenure as a registrar
in BAMU.

Pune: Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) activists barged into State Director of Higher Education Dhanraj Mane’s office at Central Building on Thursday to demand his suspension.

The agitation against Mane was on the backdrop of alleged irregularities in admission procedure, which took place in Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University (BAMU) during his tenure as a registrar
in BAMU.

He later assumed charge as the State Director of Higher Education.
Although State Education Minister Vinod Tawde had ordered Mane’s suspension on April 6, he still continues to retain the position, alleged the
ABVP activists.
