There were eight major burglaries reported in the city in last two days wherein cash and valuables totally worth over Rs 40 lakh were stolen.

PUNE: There were eight major burglaries reported in the city in last two days wherein cash and valuables totally worth over Rs 40 lakh were stolen.

The burglars had broke into a bungalow near Someshwar Mandir in Pashan and decamped with 700 grams gold, 2 kg silver ornaments and Rs 1.5 lakh cash. The bungalow owner has lodged an FIR with Chatuhshrungi police station stating that the bungalow was locked for the last three days as they were out of station. In Koregaon Park, the burglars struck at a locked flat and decamped with a safe containing gold and diamond ornaments worth Rs 14 lakh. Vasudev Megani (43) has lodged an FIR against unidentified persons. The incident took place between 1 pm and 4 pm on Thursday in Jashan Mahal Co-operative Society.

Under Sinhagad Road police station, two persons from Rutambhara Annex Society has lodged complaints that gold ornaments and cash, totally worth Rs 2.9 lakh were stolen on Wednesday.

In Wakad, Chitrank Agarwal has lodged a complaint of theft. Unidentified persons entered his flat using a duplicate key and decamped with gold ornaments worth Rs 2 lakh.
