66-year-old man attacked with sharp-edged weapons

Pune: A 66-year-old man (Ravi Ghule) was attacked with sharp-edged weapons by a group of four goons on Thursday at Ramtekdi. The senior citizen was attacked over a previous complaint made by him against the accused who tried to extort money from him for Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations.

A complaint was registered at Wanwadi police station. Three of the accused have been identified whereas the identity of the fourth accused is still unknown. The accused were identified as Malkit Singh Dudhani (35), Udhal Singh Dudhani (34) and Aniket Gaikwad (35). All four accused are residents of Ramtekdi in Hadapsar.

The police informed that the complainant Ram Ghule works as a supervisor in Naiknaware Construction Company and was at a construction site at Ramtekdi when he was attacked by the accused on Thursday afternoon.

Police Sub-Inspector Vivek Pawar of Wanwadi police station said, “The accused had grudges against the victim as he had filed a complaint against them at Deccan police station during the Ganesh festival. On Thursday, they reached his workplace and led out a murderous attack on him with sharp-edged weapons.”

The victim was rushed to hospital after the incident and has suffered injuries. The police have arrested Malkit Singh Dudhani who is the primary accused in the case. The other three accused are at large.

The police have booked all four accused under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code.
