5.5 pc upsurge in Pune property registrations

The department processed over 22.81 lakh documents between January to December 2018 compared to 21.61 lakh in the same period in 2017. On an average, the department registers about 22 lakh documents annually.

Pune: The Property Registration Department has seen an approximate 5.5 per cent rise in number of property documents registered in 2018 compared to 2017. The information was shared by officials of the Stamps and Registration Department of the State. In 2018, the department earned over Rs 27,742 crore in revenue between January and December, Rs 3,215 crore more as compared to Rs 24,527 crore income in the same period in 2017.

The department processed over 22.81 lakh documents between January to December 2018 compared to 21.61 lakh in the same period in 2017. On an average, the department registers about 22 lakh documents annually. Speaking about the document registration scenario, an official from the department said, “We are satisfied with the rise in the number of registrations. We have also achieved our revenue targets. Although we cannot say that the rise is much, it is an indicator of good economy as the rise is good enough.”

The official added that Pune is also seeing good growth due to the increased commercial activity and demand, driven by IT companies. “The future growth will be in the sector of affordable housing,” added the official.
