PUNE: Over 5,170 booth-level assistants have been appointed by the Election Branch to assist booth-level officers for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
A meeting with political party workers was organised on Wednesday by the district administration. The party workers were apprised of the number of new voters and deleted voters from the electoral list. The final electoral list was published on January 31 and of the total 7,36,3812 voters in Pune, 2,00,888 are newly added and 26,421 are deleted. Deputy Election Officer Monika Singh said eligible voters whose names have not appeared in the final electoral list have to approach the booth-level officers and check for reasons.
“Eligible voters can fill Form 6 and apply again so that their name appears on the electoral list,” added Singh. She appealed to members of political parties to appoint booth-level assistants so that the booth-level officers get more helping hands.
