“The admissions in the last round are supposed to last till August 8. However, as some colleges in the city have a holiday on account of Raksha Bandhan on August 7, we have extended the deadline to 2 pm on August 9. Also, we have instructed the colleges that all those students, who will miss the first few days of college due to late admissions, should be helped to cover the portion by arranging extra classes for them,” Temkar added. The classes for Std XI will start on August 9.

Pune: Around  51,344 students have taken admissions in the colleges allotted to them at the end of the third regular round of admissions under Std XI Online Centralised Admission Process (CAP).

Thus, for the last round of admissions, there are 29,560 students, who still have not taken admissions while 41,086 seats in the colleges in the city are still vacant. The rest of the students now have to wait for the fourth round of admissions that will begin after the release of the fourth merit list on August 6.

However, looking at the number of students, who have not yet taken admissions, Dinkar Temkar, Deputy Director of Education and President, Std XI Online CAP Control Committee, said the number of rounds may increase. There may be an additional special round after the fourth round so that those who could not get admission can get an opportunity.
