Pune: The State government has done a remarkable work by releasing 47,000 electricity connections to beneficiaries under the Saubhagya Yojana.
Under the scheme, the households that had no power connection from rural and urban areas will be provided electricity. On Wednesday, the review of the scheme through the video conference made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The Mahavitran has issued a statement regarding the scheme, stating, “Free connections will be provided to prospective beneficiaries’ households and others can avail it by paying Rs 500. As many as 47,000 beneficiaries have availed the electricity connection through the scheme till date. The remaining beneficiaries will get the electricity connection by December 31, 2018. The electrification of the households in rural and urban areas will cost Rs 1,945 crore in Maharashtra.”
According to the officials, “The scheme was announced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and he took the review. During the video conference, he also appreciated the electrification of Gharapuri after 70 years which was by done laying marine cables on the seabed under water.”
