41-year-old man duped of Rs 3.87 lakh

Pune: A 41-year-old man was cheated to the tune of Rs 3.87 lakh by an unidentified person in September 2017. Amritpal Gumlera from Mundhwa has lodged a case at Mundhwa police station.

Pune: A 41-year-old man was cheated to the tune of Rs 3.87 lakh by an unidentified person in September 2017. Amritpal Gumlera from Mundhwa has lodged a case at Mundhwa police station.

According to the police, Amritpal had received a phone call from an unidentified person. The unidentified person called Amritpal and told him that he is calling from customs department and one of his friends had been caught by customs department for carrying one million US dollars. The customs department told Amritpal to deposit Rs 3.87 lakh after which his friend will be set free. Amritpal did as instructed by the caller. Later, he found that he was cheated,” the Mundhwa police said.

The police have lodged a case of cheating against the unidentified person in the case. Police Inspector MK Jagtap is investigating the case.
