4 arrested for murdering friend

Pune: Four youths were arrested by Crime Branch Unit V of Pune police for allegedly murdering a friend for an amount of Rs 10 which he refused to give them for purchasing alcohol. The murder occurred on the night of January 28 under Ramtekdi Bridge in Hadapsar.

The accused have been identified as Ajay Lakipo, 24, Lakhan alias Lakhya Bansode, 21, Zameer Shaikh, 21, and Jeevan Khandagale, 25, all residents of Ramtekdi.

The accused have been identified as Ajay Lakipo, 24, Lakhan alias Lakhya Bansode, 21, Zameer Shaikh, 21, and Jeevan Khandagale, 25, all residents of Ramtekdi.

According to the information provided by police, on the night of January 28, all five were drinking together under the bridge. The argument erupted when deceased Bagde refused to give them Rs 10 to buy more alcohol. The argument led to a fight in which all four of them attacked Bagde using an iron object and killed him.

All five are history-sheeters and have offences registered against them at various police stations of the city.

The body of the deceased was found by police on January 29, after which police initiated an investigation and arrested the four accused.

All accused have been booked under section 302 (murder) of the Indian
Penal Code.
