Pune: The State Transport Department launched a 24x7 helpline-022-62426666 for any Regional Transport Office (RTO)-related queries on Friday.

According to the senior officer, the helpline will help citizens save time and money. “People come to RTO for small queries. They move from one window to another. It takes too much time. This helpline number will save their time and money,” said the officer. Regional Transport Officer Babasaheb Ajri said, “It is a citizen-friendly call centre, where people can ask questions pertaining to online applications for learner or permanent driving licence, online permits, new car registrations or any other RTO-related information.” Citizens welcomed the move saying applicants for driving licence or permits face problems completing the application process online.
