Ashok Morale, DCP (Traffic), Pune police, said, “We conducted the drive and have booked cases against 248 people. We have booked them under Section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act and are going to cancel their licenses. Daytime drinking is practised a lot during Holi which is why we took this step in order to avoid mishaps. Most of the people who were booked were men, only a few number of women were booked. Overall it was a successful drive.”
