24,553 students selected in second round of Std XI CAP admissions
Earlier, under the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) students were asked to complete the admission procedure by paying full fees
Pune: In the second round of Std XI admissions, 24,553 students were selected. The merit list for the second round was announced on Thursday and the students will have to take the admission between July 21 and 24.
In the second round, 6,889 students have got the colleges of their first choice, while 30,734 students could not get admission in any college.
It is mandatory for students to take admission who were allotted colleges of their first preference or else they will not be eligible for the admission.
However, for those who have been allotted colleges as per the preference from number two to ten, it will not be mandatory to take admission in those colleges.
But if they do take admissions in those colleges, they will not get another chance of getting admission in the colleges of their choice.
Earlier, under the Centralised Admission Process (CAP) students were asked to complete the admission procedure by paying full fees.
However, after many students expressed their inability to pay full fees, Education Director, Dinkar Temkar had notified that colleges should not make payment of full fee mandatory.
Temkar also said colleges should not avoid uploading information related to students who have got admissions even if they do not make full payment of fees.
If these students’ names do not appear on the online list, it will be considered as college principal’s responsibility, Temkar warned.
