24-yr-old youth attacked on suspicion of being informer

Pune: A 24-year-old youth was attacked with a chopper by a group of six men on the suspicion of being a police informer. The incident occurred on Monday at Dengle Bridge in Shivajinagar. A case was registered at Shivajinagar police station.

The accused have been identified as Aatish Bagul, Rishikesh Bagul, Ganesh Bagul, residents of Kamgar Putla, Shivajinagar and Amar Kamble, Sachin Kamble, and Gaothi Ganya, residents of Mangalwar Peth. The six accused assaulted and inflicted injuries on the complainant Rakesh Pardeshi, 24, a resident of Shivajinagar.

According to the Shivajinagar police, Aatish Bagul suspected Pardeshi of being a police informer and told his friends that he gives information about them to the police. On Monday, Aatish called up Pardeshi to Dengle Bridge and got into a scuffle with him over his suspicion regarding Pardeshi being an informer. 

Later, he called the remaining five accused at the spot who led an attack on the complainant with a chopper.
