According to passengers, at Delhi airport, the airline officials said the windscreen of the aircraft was damaged due to a bird hit while landing. The windscreen was replaced and hence the delay.

NP Kale, a passenger on board this flight, told Sakal Times, “I reached Delhi airport at 7.30 pm. There was no intimation about the delay. We got the boarding pass and were waiting for the flight. Earlier, we were informed that the flight was delayed by 20 minutes. We were not informed till 10.30 pm. At 10.45 pm, the airline informed us that the flight was hit by a bird while landing. The windscreen was damaged and the technical team was changing it.”

“They shifted the gate for boarding the flight. They started taking on board the business class passengers. These  were de-boarded and again the airline staff changed the gate,” said another passenger, S Arun, an IT professional from Pune.

When contacted, airline officials could not provide any details.
