2 policemen booked for demanding Rs 5K bribe

The complainant was in need of his two-wheeler, which was seized by Hadapsar police after an accident and the accused asked for Rs 5,000 as bribe to return his bike. A case of bribery has been lodged against the accused.

PUNE: Two policemen with the Hadapsar police were booked by Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Friday for demanding Rs 5,000 as bribe from a complainant whose bike was seized as it was involved in an accident. 

As per the police, the accused have been identified as police Head Constable Jagdish Kondhalkar and Police Naik Narayan Gore. The complainant was in need of his two-wheeler, which was seized by Hadapsar police after an accident and the accused asked for Rs 5,000 as bribe to return his bike. A case of bribery has been lodged against the accused.
