2 held for assaulting Booth Level Officer

According to the police, Ambavale and the peon had called on the mobile phone of a woman staffer after she did not report for work related to preparations of the Lok Sabha elections. 

PUNE: Two persons were arrested for allegedly assaulting a 45-year-old Booth Level Officer (BLO) when he asked a woman staffer about the reason for her absence from work. 

As per information, the accused woman failed to report for the preparations for the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. 

Eknath Ambawale, who is the Principal of a school in Talawade, has been assigned the duty as BLO. He has lodged an FIR with Chikhali police station under the jurisdiction of Pimpri-Chinchwad police. 

According to the police, Ambavale and the peon had called on the mobile phone of a woman staffer after she did not report for work related to preparations of the Lok Sabha elections. 

On Saturday afternoon, two relatives, a man and a woman, of the staffer barged into Ambavale’s office and abused him. Later, the accused woman slapped the Principal. 

After Ambawale’s complaint, police arrested Anil Jadhav and Risha Chavan.
