2 die in different mishaps in Pune

Pune: Two persons died in separate but similar incidents of hit-and-run, on Wednesday at Kondhwa and Hadapsar.

In the first mishap, a 35-year-old woman was rammed to death by a truck driver on Kondhwa-Katraj Road. The deceased woman was identified as Rupali Adagale, a resident of Bawdhan. She was going with her husband Subhash towards Katraj on a motorcycle when the mishap occurred.

According to the Kondhwa police, the truck driver hit the couple and ran away from the spot. The woman succumbed to her injuries while her husband received injuries.

The truck driver was identified as Manjunath Khandoji, 30, a resident of Phursungi, who was later arrested by the police.

The second accident happened in Hadapsar in which a 33-year-old man was rammed to death by a car driver. 

The deceased was identified as Mukhtar Ansari, a resident of Sadar, who was hit by the car driver while he was standing near the road adjacent to Quality Bakery in Hadapsar.

The accused, who is still at large, was identified as Harnam Singh, 42, a resident of Gwalior in Madhya Pradesh. He fled from the spot after the accident.

In both the cases, accused were booked under section 304A (Causing death by negligence) of IPC.
