17 people cheated of Rs 36.49 lakh

Pune: Over 17 people were cheated to the tune of Rs 36.49 lakh by five fraudsters who asked the victims to invest in the business of letting cars on rent.

A case of cheating has been lodged at Sangvi police station. According to the Sangvi police, car driver Jitendra Jadhav has lodged a case.

Based on the complaint, the police have booked Sagar Bokphode, Nagnath Khandare, Ganpati Malishe, Chandrakant Pandhare, Ankush Mhetre. Assistant Police Inspector Balbhim Nanaware said that Sagar and Nagnath are friends while the other three accused work for Sagar. The incident occurred between October 2016 till July 2017.
