Pune: In what comes as good news for first-time home buyers, over 167 housing projects in Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) area provide benefits of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) schemes. This was announced by PMRDA officials on Monday.
Addressing a press conference, PMRDA chief Kiran Gitte said first-time home buyers under PMAY scheme can fill forms provided by the PMRDA and they will connect them to the bank for further processing to avail benefits under PMAY scheme.
He said these 167 housing projects have homes of less than 60 sq metre size. “There are 2.58 lakh units in these housing projects which can suffice the need of home buyers under PMAY scheme. We have set up a housing cell which will help people in getting homes under the scheme. We will start the online process on January 15 and the details can be seen on PMRDA website,” added Gitte.
The PMRDA chief said they will connect with MHADA as the latter collected details of low cost home buyers.
Speaking on the feasibility study of hyperloop between Mumbai and Pune Gitte said, “We received the report on Monday and will submit the same to the government. There are three routes proposed which include Pune-Vashi-Dadar, Pune-Navi Mumbai-Sewri and Pune-Vashi-Santacruz. The project is viable and if all thing goes well the Hyperloop can start by 2026. Virgin Hyperloop studied data from all authorities including JNPT, MSRDC, MMRDA and other agencies to come to conclusion. While the construction would be safer on Pune side it will be a bit complex on Mumbai side.”
