Pune: Under its ‘Operation All Out,’ Pune police has arrested 150 criminals from Pimpri Chinchwad area, who were involved in committing various offences across the city. Police carried out the operation to control the rising graph of crime in the areas of Pimpri-Chavan.

Those arrested include history-sheeters, absconding criminals, criminals who were externed and those booked for negligent and rash driving under inebriated condition.

Ganesh Shinde, Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone-3, said, “We started this operation a month back and will be continuing with it. We have cracked down heavily on criminals involved in roadside crimes.

These criminals generally operate after drinking and get involved in robbery, assault, eve teasing, vandalising vehicles and other crimes, which affect public walking or passing on the road. After having a peg or two, such criminals think they run the show in the city, it was high time to clamp them down.”

“The action was needed for the safety and security of the common people,” Shinde added.
