Pune: A 14-year-old boy who was reportedly playing ‘Blue Whale Challenge’ was traced by the Bhigwan police in a State transport bus while he was travelling alone from Solapur to Pune on Wednesday morning. The boy was handed over to his parents by the Bhigwan police who took him back to Solapur.

According to Assistant Police Inspector Neelkanth Rathod, in charge of the Bhigwan police station, they received information from the Solapur police control room that the boy has left for Pune from Solapur in a state transport bus. The Solapur police then requested Bhigwan police to track the bus so that the boy can be traced.

“We reached the Solapur highway and stopped the Pune-bound state transport bus in which the boy was travelling. The Solapur police had informed us that he was playing the ‘Blue Whale game’. Later, we informed the boy’s parents who took him back to Solapur on Wednesday afternoon,” added Rathod.

The Bhigwan police said that they were able to trace the boy because of his mobile phone. The police said that they were informed by the boy’s parents that the boy was playing the game from past few days. The boy’s father did not respond to multiple phone calls by Sakal Times.
