10 persons injured after truck rams into vehicles

Police have arrested the truck driver, identified as N Ravi Nagan, who hails from Tamil Nadu. According to police, the incident took place at around 11 am opposite Hotel Vishwa.

PUNE: At least 10 persons sustained injuries after a truck went out of control and hit several vehicles at Vadgaon bridge on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway on Monday morning.

Police have arrested the truck driver, identified as N Ravi Nagan, who hails from Tamil Nadu. According to police, the incident took place at around 11 am opposite Hotel Vishwa. Dharampal Ramasare Bharti (40) of Urulidevachi, Prakash Gogawale (39) of Gogalwadi and Parashuram alias Kallu Yadav and a woman have been seriously injured in the accident. They are being treated at a private hospital.

As per the police, Nagan was driving the truck laden with coconuts to Mumbai. He lost control over the vehicle near Vadgaon bridge and hit eight vehicles. The incident caused a traffic jam.
