0.5km road from Kumar Sublime to Sobha Garnet to be reconstructed

PUNE: The groundbreaking ceremony for construction of a road from Kumar Sublime to Sobha Garnet, a 0.5 km stretch near NIBM, Kondhwa, was performed by Nanda Lonkar, Corporator of Kondhwa Khurd, on Sunday. The area did not have a proper road for last 15 years.

The stretch had stones and potholes and was causing problems for residents of many housing societies in the area. “There were no basic facilities like footpaths, street lights, water pipelines or drainage,” said Lonkar.

“Previously, there were many disputes about the land and there was a litigation against the acquisition for the road. Now, the construction work of the road will begin within a week, as we have a deadline to complete it by March 31.” The housing societies in the area, which will be benefit from this road are DSK Garden Enclave, Kumar Sublime, Kumar Sansar, Yash Rhythm, Parge Heights, Vivaan, Nirmaan, Sobha Garnet, Sobha Ivory, Alcon Royce, Alcon Signare.

Shaheen Ahmed, a resident of Kumar Sublime, said, “Some of the residents have been living here since 2005 while some societies are 20-30 years old, but they were all suffering due to lack of proper road. The condition of the stretch was so bad that many of the residents faced or witnessed accidents of pregnant women or senior citizens.”
