Pune: Minister of State for Social Justice Dilip Kamble said the entire water supply lines in the Pune Cantonment Board (PCB) will be replaced.

A survey in this regard will be conducted by the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) in a few days.

Kamble was speaking to the press after holding a meeting with Municipal Commissioner Kunal Kumar and Standing Committee Chairman Murlidhar Mohol, about pending projects of the PCB, with the PMC.

The PMC has agreed to conduct a survey of the old water supply lines to replace all of them with the new one, for improving water supply in the cantonment areas. Kamble was elected on the BJP ticket from the Pune Cantonment constituency, which includes all the eight wards of the PCB and two wards of the PMC, where the water supply system is in a bad shape.

He said the pending issue of Ghorpadi railway overbridge and the Lullanagar flyover were also discussed at the meeting with the PMC officials. It was decided that the actual work of both projects will be initiated with funding from local area development fund of the public representatives. “MLA Yogesh Tilekar and city MP Anil Shirole agreed to give their MPLAD funds for the projects,” Kamble told reporters.

“A flyover at Fatima Nagar Chowk has been approved by the PMC, in-principle. We will approach Union minister Nitin Gadkari for its execution,” he said.
