‘Village of Books’ Bhilar will celebrate first anniversary

The new amphitheatre, built on the land given by the Gram Panchayat to the State government, has a capacity of to seat 200 to 250 persons. A cultural programme ‘Shabdachandane’ has been scheduled at the amphitheatre right after its inauguration at 5 pm.

Pune: On the occasion of its first anniversary, an open amphitheatre is all set to be inaugurated at Bhilar, the ‘Village of Books’ on May 4. Several programmes have also been organised to commemorate the occasion. 

The new amphitheatre, built on the land given by the Gram Panchayat to the State government, has a capacity of to seat 200 to 250 persons. A cultural programme ‘Shabdachandane’ has been scheduled at the amphitheatre right after its inauguration at 5 pm. On the occasion, five new ‘Book Houses’ dedicated to the genres of Competitive Examinations, Drama and Films, Graphic Books, Novels and Biographies and Autobiographies will be inaugurated at the village on Friday.

Eminent personalities in the field of literature like Monika Gajendragadkar, Dr Sadanand More, Bharat Sasane and Yogesh Soman will be present. Education and Cultural Affairs Minister Vinod Tawde has appealed to tourists and literature lovers to visit the ‘Village of Books’ on May 4.
