‘Victims will get compensation immediately’

“Repair work of the wall has been started on a war footing. There were a proposal for last 10 to 15 years to enclose the canal. It was under consideration. This year the rainfall was heavy, so there will not any scarcity of drinking water in Pune city,” Girish Bapat said.

MUMBAI: Guardian Minister  Girish  Bapat assured that the assessment of the losses due to the Mutha canal burst will be done as per rules and the victims will get compensation immediately. 

After the wall collapse of the canal, the water discharge from Khadakwasla was stopped. “Repair work of the wall has been started on a war footing. There were a proposal for last 10 to 15 years to enclose the canal. It was under consideration. This year the rainfall was heavy, so there will not any scarcity of drinking water in Pune city,” he said.
