‘Two-wheeler riders should use helmets’

On this occasion, Assistant Commissioner of Police (Traffic)  Navnath Wakude said, “We have witnessed many tragic events  and sufferings of families. This way we can help reduce chances of fatal accidents and thus I appeal to all to support the use of helmets.”

PUNE: Young artists created awareness about use of helmets in a joint event organised by Pune Traffic Police and Bhartiya Kala Prasarini Sabha on Wednesday morning. The event took place at Jedhe Chowk, Swargate on Wednesday morning wherein about 70 students carried boards having pictures and slogans supporting use of helmets participated in it.

Pune Traffic Police installed flex boards in the chowk that had pictures created by the students. Students raised slogans like ‘Be smart, use helmet’,’Be careful, someone is waiting for you at home’ .

Senior Traffic Inspector Prabhakar Dhage said, “Our aim is to reduce the number of road accidents and casualties. Helmet compulsion is one part of achieving it. “

Secretary of Bhartiya Kala Prasarini Sabha Pushkaraj Pathak said, “Pictures speak louder than words so we decided to use artistic and creative work of students for this awareness campaign. We are confident about success and positive impact of this initiative.”
