PUNE: Members of the Pimpri Chinchwad-based Forum of Small Scale Industries (FOSSI) have exhorted that small scale companies should form groups and function similar to group farming activity. They added that the move  will help them survive in the business.

The members were addressing a press conference at Patrakar Bhavan on Wednesday afternoon.

They have also appealed that the government should provide land to such groups of small scale industries, which will help them survive and generate employment.

Speaking at the press meet, Abhay Bhor, President of FOSSI, said that initiatives like Mudra loans, Startup India and Make-in-India will not be helpful unless people come together in groups.

“At many times, we observe that owners of small scale industries run into loses and have to shut down their units, leading to job losses. We are being approached by a number of jobless youths on a regular basis. Hence, we need to work in groups. As availability of land is a major challenge for us, the government should make provisions for such groups of industries, which will help India grow,” added Bhor.

He further added that several groups related to electrical, chemical, engineering, food processing and other small units can be made, which will help in brainstorming and starting manufacturing units.  “Industries, which are not functional, can be dissolved and the land for same can be handed over to such small groups of companies,” added Bhor.
