‘Murder was fallout of illicit relationship’

Pune: One person was arrested for the murder of Anand Kamble (26), a resident of Aundh at Pasarni ghat near Panchgani on Saturday. 

Anand recently married Diksha Kamble and planned a trip to Panchgani and Mahabaleshwar. He and some others were on their way to Panchagani.

While crossing Pasarni ghat, Diksha asked Anand to stop the car, as she was feeling uneasy. Four persons arrived on two two-wheelers and attacked Anand with sickles. Anand was taken to a hospital, but could not survive.

Police Inspector Padmakar Ghanwat of Satara local crime branch and Police Inspector Vinayak Vetal of Wai police station are investigating the case. Ghanwat said that one Nikhil Malekar has been arrested from Nigdi as he was in an illicit relation with Diksha. 

Anand was a resident of Aundh. Anand was a member of the RPI and is survived by three sisters and a younger brother.

Ramdas Athawale and Parshuram Wadekar, leaders of the RPI were present for Anand’s funeral.
