‘Metro work from civil court to Ramwadi will start soon’

Pune: The Mahametro will soon start the work on third part of the metro project from civil court station to Ramwadi station, which is about 7.7 km. The route passes through RTO, Pune station, Bund Garden, Yerawada, Nagar Road and Ramwadi and will have eight elevated stations.

Speaking to mediapersons, Managing Director of Mahametro Brijesh Dixit said that the tender process of civil work and building stations from civil court to Ramwadi will be completed in three months and Mahametro will then start the civil work on the stretch.

Pune: The Mahametro will soon start the work on third part of the metro project from civil court station to Ramwadi station, which is about 7.7 km. The route passes through RTO, Pune station, Bund Garden, Yerawada, Nagar Road and Ramwadi and will have eight elevated stations.

Speaking to mediapersons, Managing Director of Mahametro Brijesh Dixit said that the tender process of civil work and building stations from civil court to Ramwadi will be completed in three months and Mahametro will then start the civil work on the stretch.

Similarly, work on building the underground metro stations from Shivajinagar to Swargate is also in progress. “We have got part of the land at the civil court and we have started the work in civil court area. The two metro lines Vanaaz Ramwadi and Pimpri-Chinchwad Swargate pass through civil court station,” added Dixit.

Speaking on the traffic chaos on Karve Road due to metro work, Dixit said that the pain is temporary. “Once the work is done, Karve Road will become smooth for traffic,” added Dixit.

Mahametro had received a fund of Rs 580 crore from the government and has spent nearly Rs 300 crore on the project from this amount. Mahametro will be requiring about Rs 2,000 crore more in coming few months.
