‘Influencers should try regional languages too’

Pune:  Founder of NoFiltr, a digital media firm, Sumedh Chaphekar claims that content on social media will move from English to regional languages and has advised influencers on social media to test their content in regional language too.

NoFiltr helps influencers on social media to monetise their talents with the help of branding and provides services like personal branding, content creation, campaign design and others, said Sumedh who was interacting with media persons at Hotel Pride in Shivajinagar, on Wednesday.

Sumedh said that people love their native language and so if influencers can perform in their regional language they will attract ‘hits’ on the Internet.

“Although people do watch content in the English language, we have seen languages like Hindi, Punjabi equally accepted by audiences,” added Sumedh.

Speaking on the content creation for branding, Sumedh said that the influencers are aware of their audience and so the content is scripted mostly by them.

He said that comedy content leads the race of genre on social media followed by dance, technology and beauty tips.

Speaking about the trends in digital marketing, Sumedh said that while celebrities can be used by brands for creating brand awareness, mid-level influencers who advertise about the brand help in making a purchase decision for the audience.

The company claims to have a reach of 1.1 million followers through their influencers. “Currently, we have about 20 influencers who have been assigned as managers by us. The influencers create video content on a different platform which helps us increase our reach. We also have about 50 others who help us in branding products,” added Sumedh.
