‘Govt officials should help with hsg schemes’

Pune: The Pune Divisional Commissioner D Mhaisekar has appealed to senior government authorities to help people get benefits of various housing schemes in Maharashtra. 

He was taking a review of housing schemes along with senior officials of Zilla Parishad, Gramin Vikas Yojana and others on Friday. Speaking at the event, Mhaisekar said, “The different housing projects were approved in 2016 and government officials should help in the success of these schemes for benefit of people.”

He was taking a review of housing schemes along with senior officials of Zilla Parishad, Gramin Vikas Yojana and others on Friday. Speaking at the event, Mhaisekar said, “The different housing projects were approved in 2016 and government officials should help in the success of these schemes for benefit of people.” 

The government has kept the target of the year 2022 to provide affordable housing to people under ‘housing for all’  initiative. The divisional commissioner said that if developers are not showing good progress in affordable housing projects then action should be initiated against such projects or developers.

The State government has different housing schemes including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Pardhi Awas Yojana and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Scheme of financial assistance to purchase land to build homes and others.
