Pune: Farmers and district banks are confused as the State government is continually changing notifications, said Pune District Central Cooperative Bank’s (PDCC) Chairman Ramesh Thorat. He added that if there is clarity in the notifications related to farm loan waiver, then they will be implemented.

Thorat was speaking at a press conference on Monday. Speaking about Shiv Sena’s protest outside PDCC Bank, Thorat suggested that as Shiv Sena is a part of the government, they should play dhol outside the chief minister’s residence. He said that due to lack of clarity, PDCC is unable to declare the list of beneficiaries.

On Monday, Shiv Sena protested by playing dhol in front of PDCC Bank headquarters. Thorat said that he believes that the State government itself is in a confused state. He added that district banks could not implement the decision as the guidelines regarding loan waiver are unclear. Referring to Chief Minister’s announcement about farm loans from 2009, Thorat added that there is no notification regarding the same, District Banks are facing challenges in compiling information related to loan accounts.
