Pune: While answering a question raised by Congress legislator Sanjay Dutt on the issue of cheating and cases of paper leaks during standard X and XII board examinations, Education Minister Vinod Tawde, on Tuesday, said in the Legislative Council that the exam centres where cases of question paper leak were found, will be blacklisted.

Congress members raised the question with reference to a case of paper leak which was reported from an examination centre in Ulhasnagar, where a coaching class was suspected to have leaked the Social Science Paper I to students on mobile phones. Tawde said that the government has been taking note of paper leaks taking place at several centres in the state and will blacklist or permanently bar these centres.

Shakuntala Kale, Chairperson, Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Examination said, “The board usually blacklists centres from where maximum copy cases are reported. We have, in past, marked many centres as sensitive and also blacklisted a few of them.

However, the education minister’s decision will remain final. We have not received any official notification from the education department yet but since it has been declared, we will carry out the blacklisting process once we get the official information.”
