‘Cos proactive about CSR funding’

PUNE: “In the last five years, more and more companies have started taking much more proactive approach about the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funding. As a result of this, they have started to think about how it can make a difference,” said Dr Naushad Forbes, Co-Chairman, Forbes Marshall and Trustee, Pune International Centre (PIC). He was speaking at the unveiling of a policy paper prepared by PIC, named ‘Governance & Effectiveness of NGOs - The Way Ahead’ held on Tuesday.

It was organised by PIC and was chaired by Pradeep Bhargava, President, MCCIA. These policy papers were authored by Madhukar Kotwal, former member, Board of Directors, Larsen & Toubro (L&T), India, Rajendra Erande, Corporate Advisor, Allied Digital Services Ltd (ADSL), Sridhar Jayaraman, Secretary and Compliance Officer, Bajaj Auto Ltd and Vinayak Kelkar, Lead Corporate Sustainability, Praj Industries Ltd.

During the event, Forbes said that the next step for the corporates is to be more strategic about what are the needs of the city or the country and how one company can collaborate with other companies to provide those on a larger scale.
