‘Complete migration for GST before Aug 31’

Pune: The Goods and Service Tax (GST) Commissionerate has issued a notification to complete migration of taxpayers, who had received provisional IDs but could not complete the migration process. A help desk has been set up by the Central GST Pune II Commissionerate to guide taxpayers in completing the migration process.
The GST Pune statement said, “A number of instances have been reported, where bonafide taxpayers could not be migrated/registered in GST from the earlier tax regime to discharge their obligations as prescribed by law within time limit prescribed due to various reasons.”
The Central Board of Indirect Tax (CBIC), New Delhi had issued a notification on August 6. The notification stated, “The Pune GST registration window for businesses that earlier could not or did not file complete registration form 26 but only received provisional identification number. The window will remain open till August 31.”
“Further the Pune GST office has issued a trade notice, wherein a nodal officer is appointed for receiving the migration/registration grievance for taxpayers of falling under the jurisdiction of the CGST Pune I commissionerate,” said the statement.
