‘Central Maharashtra to receive rainfall’

IMD has forecast that central Maharashtra and Marathwada may witness rainfall on February 11. Konkan and Goa and Vidarbha will witness dry weather during the same time.

PUNE: Pune reported night temperature on Wednesday at 14.6 degrees Celsius whereas, on Thursday, the night temperature dropped to 10.5 degrees Celsius. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), along with the night and day temperature will further drop till February 10, after which there is a possibility of rainfall in the city and at some parts of the State.

IMD on Thursday reported that Ahmednagar recorded the lowest temperature in the State at 9.9 degrees Celsius. 

IMD has forecast that central Maharashtra and Marathwada may witness rainfall on February 11. Konkan and Goa and Vidarbha will witness dry weather during the same time.

Pune city will experience night temperature between eight to nine degrees Celsius till February 10. However, from February 12, IMD has forecast that the sky in the city will remain cloudy afternoon.

National scenario
In the plains, the lowest minimum temperature recorded was 7.2 degrees Celsius at Nazibabad in west Uttar Pradesh on Thursday. Dense fog observed at isolated places over Himachal Pradesh, moderate fog at isolated places over Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Gangetic West Bengal, Assam and Meghalaya on Sunday.

IMD has forecast heavy rain and snow at isolated places very likely over Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim till February 9. During the same time, thunderstorm accompanied by hailstorm and gusty winds at isolated places very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, and Bihar.

Dense fog at isolated places very likely over west Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Punjab and north Rajasthan till February 10 is forecast by IMD.
