‘90 pc land acquisition for metro project has been completed’

Mahametro had planned to acquire 40 hectares of land on the Pimpri-Swargate and Ramwadi-Vanaz routes and has already acquired 36 hectares.

PUNE: Mahametro has acquired almost 90 per cent of the land required for the metro project, said officials of Mahametro in a press meet on Thursday. 

Mahametro had planned to acquire 40 hectares of land on the Pimpri-Swargate and Ramwadi-Vanaz routes and has already acquired 36 hectares. Mahametro officials said they are in contact with owners of the remaining four hectares that is yet to be acquired. Mahametro has sent notices of land acquisition to 55 owners for the remaining four hectares. 

The acquired land will be used to build parking facilities, depots, metro routes, metro stations and other facilities. Officials said that the owners of the land will be compensated and people in need of any help can approach the Ghole Road office of Mahametro.
