‘3-layered SPPU flyover plan in its final stages’

Shivajinagar MLA Vijay Kale, who has been following up this project with the State government and the Pune Municipal Corporation, said a detailed report and model of the multi-layered flyover is ready and will be presented to Fadnavis once a meeting is fixed.

MLA says it will be put before CM soon.

Pune: The much-needed multi-layered flyover at Savitribai Phule Pune University Chowk for facilitating smooth running of the Pune Metro Rail, High Capacity Mass Transit Route (HCMTR) and city traffic is in the final stage of planning and soon a presentation in this regard will be made before Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis for seeking his nod.

Shivajinagar MLA Vijay Kale, who has been following up this project with the State government and the Pune Municipal Corporation, said a detailed report and model of the multi-layered flyover is ready and will be presented to Fadnavis once a meeting is fixed.

Kale said that the top floor of the flyover will be used for a metro rail track between Pimpri-Chinchwad and Pune, the middle floor will be dedicated to HCMTR traffic and the first floor will be for normal traffic on Baner-Balewadi and Pashan-Ganeshkhind roads.

He said a grade separator will be constructed to connect the university with SB Road in order to decongest the chowk. He added that the present flyover will be demolished to pave way for the new infrastructure.
