PUNE: A recent survey on Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) done by Genesis Management and Market Research Private Limited revealed that only two per cent of the surveyed commuters were aware of the ticket vending machines available for PMPML passengers.
Genesis Management and Market Research recently released their survey report.
According to the officials from the organisation, a total of 300 PMPML passenger were interviewed in the city.
“After the survey, the observations drawn showed that only 2 per cent of the respondents were aware of ticket vending machines available to make PMPML travel cashless. These machines were introduced with a view to reduce the burden on the conductors and address the complaints of shortage of balance money while buying bus tickets,” said officials from Genesis.
They added that the passengers were very happy with the improved situation of BRTS lanes which does not allow entry of private vehicles and buses are able to reach their destination faster.
The officials stated that many passengers expressed satisfaction with fewer bus breakdowns but demanded more attention towards improving cleanliness in buses.
Many demanded that washrooms on bus depots should be clean and hygienic.
“The other observation from the survey revealed that the helpline numbers are not working and whenever the number gets connected the call is disconnected abruptly,” said the officials.
