Hockey Maharashtra, Alibaug, restrained from conducting hockey competitions

Pune: A civil court has temporarily restrained Hockey Maharashtra, Alibaug, from conducting, arranging, organising competitions or activities relating to hockey in Maharashtra, till deciding the suit.

The court also restrained it from using the name ‘Hockey Maharashtra’.

Jt Civil Judge CP Bhagwat passed an order in this regard on November 20.

The order by the civil court came on a plea filed by Hockey Maharashtra General Secretary Cdr Kehar Singh (retd) against Maharashtra Olympic Associations, Pune, Hockey India, New Delhi, Hockey Maharashtra, Alibaug, which is led by its President Hitesh Jain, Maharashtra government sports department and Indian Olympic Association, New Delhi as well as Registrar of Societies, Raigad region, Alibaug.

The court has temporarily restrained Maharashtra Olympic Associations, Hockey India, New Delhi, and Maharashtra government from continuing affiliation of Hockey Maharashtra, Alibaug, for the game of hockey.
