As the maintenance of loose boulders is going on on both sides of the road, there was a mega block on the route on Thursday. However, the work may go on for around 10 more days right amidst heavy rainfall.

After the landslide on the Expressway two years ago, an iron mesh has already been fixed by Meccaferri company at sensitive locations in Bhor Ghat. Due to this, many incidents of landslides were averted as the boulders were stuck in the mesh.

Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) conducts routine checks before the monsoon. In Adoshi tunnel and at Kilometre No 39, MSRDC has taken up the task of clearing the loose boulders from the hilltop.

The work will be done between 10:30 am and 4 pm every day and the traffic will be stopped every half an hour. The Highway Police have sought additional police bandobast along with IRB staff and patrolling party of Delta Force.
