Vodafone helps warkaris stay connected on the go

Pune: Vodafone Mobile Bus service started on Thursday for the fifth year, at Vodafone office at Wakdewadi.

 

One bus each will accompany the Warkaris on the Palki routes of Tukaram Maharaj and Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhis from Pune to Pandharpur. The buses will be provided to pilgrims throughout the 21-day journey, covering 450 km on foot.

 

The buses are equipped with free calling facility, mobile phone charging points, recharge vouchers and M-Pesa money transfer service.

Each bus has eight phones to be used by, and over hundred charging points for the convenience of Warkaris.

Trustees of Tukaram Maharaj and Dnyaneshwar Maharaj Palkhis, in the presence of Ashish Chandra, Business Head of Maharashtra and Goa circle of Vodafone India, flagged off the buses.

Chandra said, “Vodafone is extremely happy to support the Pandharpur Yatra with our ‘Vodafone Mobile Buses’ initiative that keeps the Warkaris constantly connected with their  loved ones.”
