Mumbai: NDA ally Shiv Sena is not officially aware about the expansion of the Union Cabinet. Party chief Uddhav Thackeray said that he has not received any communication from the BJP over the Union Cabinet expansion scheduled on Sunday.

“We are not power hungry, but we care for Mumbaikars,” he said. “In the recent deluge in Mumbai, the Mumbaikar faced health problems and is still under the cloud of any type of epidemic. We are focusing on medical facilities rather that the Union Cabinet expansion,” he said.

“I came to know about the Cabinet expansion only from media. Not a single person from the alliance has communicated with me about it. I have not inquired about it from the central BJP leadership,” said Thackeray.

“Our party founder and Shiv Sena supremo late Balasaheb Thackeray taught us that there should be 80 per cent social work and only 20 per cent politics in the party. So we give less importance to politics or activities like Cabinet expansion,” he added. Shiv Sena has only one minister in Union Cabinet, Anant Geete, who is Minister of Heavy Industries.
