State approves land for MPSC building

MPSC did not have its own independent building, the Commission’s work took place in rented offices in two different buildings.

Mumbai: After continuous demands and protests, the state government has designated a land measuring 1.37 acres in Belapur for an independent building for Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC). MPSC did not have its own independent building, the Commission’s work took place in rented offices in two different buildings. However, considering the sensitive and confidential nature of the Commission’s work, the proposal for the independent building has now been accepted.The plot where the building will come up  is near Konkan Bhavan in CBD Belapur, Navi Mumbai.

“We have been fighting for the past three months to get the proposal approved for the independent building for MPSC. In a signature campaign that we had run for the same, more than 10,000 students participated. We had also written letters to the President, Prime Minister, Governor and Chief Minister,” said Mahesh Bade, representative, MPSC students rights.
