Rain predicted in Maharashtra till June 13

Pune: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted rainfall, along with thunderstorm, in Konkan and Goa, Marathwada, Vidarbha and central Maharashtra till June 13.

The depression over Arabian Sea has intensified into a deep depression and lay centred at 760 km south-southwest of Mumbai. It is likely to intensify further into a cyclonic storm till June 12 and thereafter into a severe cyclonic storm till June 13.

Pune will continue to witness cloudy weather till June 15. India Meteorological Department has advised fishermen not to venture into southeast Arabian Sea, Lakshadweep area along and off Kerala and Karnataka coasts on June 11. 

Warning has been extended for eastcentral Arabian Sea along and off Maharashtra coast on June 11 and 12 and over northeast Arabian Sea and along and off Gujarat coast on June 12 and 13. 

IMD officials said the southwest monsoon has further advanced into the remaining parts of south Arabian Sea and Lakshadweep area, most parts of Kerala, Tamil Nadu, remaining parts of southeast Bay of Bengal, most parts of Mizoram 
and Manipur.
